Energy management and energy conservation - are key requirements for virtually all sectors of the economy. Optimization of energy consumption is one of the most important tasks for companies, which consciously address the rational use of natural resources. This policy helps to minimize various negative impacts on ecology.
In beginning of July 2011 the final version of ISO 50001:2011 “Energy management systems. Requirements and Guidelines for use” was adopted.
ISO 50001:2011 is elaborated for introduction in companies of various industries and sizes. This standard helps to regulate management processes, as well as the technical aspects for improving energy efficiency at the enterprise.
ISO 50001:2011 energy management system is based on a model which is aimed at the continuous improvement of energy conservation. This standard is applied simultaneously with the other standards known as ISO 14001, ISO 9001. This set of standards allows to apply ISO 50001:2011 energy management system as efficiently as possible through integration of energy management in rational energy consumption.
Basic requirements of ISO 50001:2011 to organizations:
ISO 50001:2011 can be successfully applied in the framework of an integrated management system, along with the standards such as ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001, but is subject to self-certification.
